SUMMARY


Responsible for partnering with the Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager to successfully manage Mortenson’s equipment facility.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Identify current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, and project personnel, craft, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements.

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Invoice processing, month-end close processes, and other accounting functions as needed.

  • Learn and understand equipment rate schedules and how they are built.

  • Effectively review reports and understand how to dissect the information, utilize it to your advantage and teach others.

  • Ensure production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair and maintenance, of machines, tools, and equipment.

  • Support product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs, coordinating activities of technicians and workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment.

  • Design, implement, and modify preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics; inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards.

  • Direct operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

  • Resolve problems by conferring with management and quality control personnel.

  • Protect employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and follow up on work results.

  • Support the team with interviewing, orientation and training as needed.

  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. 

  • Organize meetings and presentations for various reasons such as, but not limited to financials, Foreman/Superintendent/Project Manager meetings.

  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance.


REQUIREMENTS and EDUCATION



  • Wind builder background or Equipment Vendor background.

  • Basic understanding of accounts payable and receivable.

  • Knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials.

  • Strong organization and planning skills.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.

  • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended use. 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in rental of construction equipment and/or construction equipment sales.

  • Current driver’s license.

  • Experience with budget management.
