The Opportunity: 

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Surveyor who is responsible for performing survey and mapping of construction measurements and advise team members during all stages of the construction project through direct surveys and layout support.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and Operate Trimble GPS equipment

  • SCS 900 software
  
  
  • GCS 900
  
  
  • Laser level
  
  
  • Machine Controls
  
  
  • Site Calibration
  
  


• Care, cleaning and use surveying tools and equipment


• Perform basic surveying computation and plan reading


• Perform survey note taking


• Survey existing conditions of proposed work sites


• Guide new construction work through layout


• Verify locations of structures


• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels


• All other duties as assigned

Competencies:

• Ability to operate equipment including but not limited to Base Station, SCS 900, GCS 900, Laser level, and Total Station


• Detail orientation


• Ability to work independently


• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

Qualifications: 

• Minimum 1 year related construction experience


• CTS level 1 or equivalent preferred 


• Current driver’s license


• Commercial or Site Development Experience

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive Hand/Arm/Leg Movements


• Lifting/Carrying/ Pushing
  
  
  
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs. will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
  
  
  • Walking Multiple Miles per day on uneven ground
