Job Description
As a Controller working for Taylor Morrison you will be responsible for working alongside the VP of Finance to lead department, review division’s financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, headcount and more.
We trust that as a Controller you will: (responsibilities)
Support the V.P. of Finance in providing financial management expertise to the operating division as well as to the corporate financial organization
Ensure that accounting, control, audit and administrative duties are performed effectively and efficiently
Ensure that financial information is accurately developed, analyzed and reported to management
Ensure forecasts, project budgets and division budgets are prepared timely and accurately
Support Contract and Closing process including responsibility for contract review and closing documents for customer transactions as well as land purchases
Manage, motivate and develop Financial and Administrative staff
Ensure that corporate financial policies and procedures are adhered to
Ensure that all corporate and operational reports are submitted accurately and timely
Assists in the management of information system issues and concerns
Provide financial assistance to all functional areas as needed
Responsible for accuracy of financial reports for assigned entities and subsidiaries

About you:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA, active CPA candidacy acceptable
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Seven years of experience in Finance/Accounting
Accounting experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and/or construction industry
Experience with finance and accounting systems and software
Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry)
Prior experience managing and training accounting/finance personnel
Computer literacy, including excellent Excel skills
Credit report in good standing
FLSA Status: Exempt
Will have responsibilities such as:
Interviewing, selecting, and training employees;

Physical Demands:
Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
