PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION This position is responsible for identifying, reporting, and correcting field safety incidents and hazard recognitions (Haz Recs), as well as seeking out Speak Up/Listen Up (SULU) opportunities and pro-active solutions to unsafe behaviors and conditions. This role will provide overall support to the on-site safety team’s daily responsibilities.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
A. Assist crew members with completing daily paperwork, including but not limited to, pre-task planning cards (PTPC’s), standard work instructions (SWI’s), dig permits, hot work permits, trench inspections, rigging inspections, operator certifications, and vehicle/equipment inspections B. Complete and document weekly job site audits C. Produce and maintain running inventory of PPE in Safety Conex D. Audit and assist with management of spill kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, barricades, power tool inspections, electrical inspections, generators, and wheel chocks E. Assist with waste disposal coordination and inventory of hazardous chemicals on-site F. Assist with water/ice inventory, porta john inventory, and shade/cooling structure inventory control G. Assist with issuing and distributing PPE to crews, as needed H. Immediately engage front line supervisors to utilize stop work authority when necessary I. Assist with conducting site-specific trainings, including but not limited to, site-specific orientations and safety trainings as needed J. Assist Safety Engineers with delivering Tool-Box Talks at Bend N’ Stretch and additional crew specific safety training, as needed K. Identify and assist with training opportunities for Foremen L. Assist with the implementation and practice of the Mortenson Zero Injury Program M. Ensure the implementation and practice of Mortenson Life Saving Rules N. Ability to learn work installation processes and actively engage with crew members to build a Zero Injury Culture O. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels P. All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A. High school diploma or GED equivalent
B. OSHA 10
C. Current valid driver’s license
D. One (1) year construction safety experience preferred
